The Northumberland Soil and Crop Improvement Association has a busy summer coming up. The annual BBQ in Roseneath will be taking place again on August 24 starting at 6 pm. We are getting a larger crowd every year. Last year we sold every plate we had.
We have also planned a car tour for July 20th starting at the Kawartha Ethanol plant.
10:30 am Kawartha Ethanol-see directions below
Lunch is provided by NSCIA
John Kinghorn will be talking about the Biomass research project in Ontario
1 pm Frank Hoftyzer, Former OSCIA president. Biomass plots, Solar Project, Livestock
2 pm Jim Glenn's Hay business
Please contact Doug Hoskin or Justin Dorland 613-475-9736 if you are interested so we can get numbers for lunch. Anyone is welcome to come.

DIRECTIONS TO KAWARTHA ETHANOL Car Tour From Brighton to the plant....Take Highway 30 north to Campbellford. Continue north through the lights on County Road 50 at Campbellford. Follow County Road 50 to the end (ends at Highway #7).
Turn left and follow Highway #7 about one km. The entrance to the plant is on the right hand side. There is a set of rail way tracks just past the entrance- if you go past the tracks, you have missed the entrance. Follow the road and stop at the guard house (about a km up the road). Let the guard know your name and that you are with the tour, and they will give you further directions.
Bring safety boots, a hard hat and safety glasses (hard hat and safety glasses will be provided if required).
No pictures please.

Special Thanks to John Pulver for hosting the Northumberland Spring Meeting April 5. An excellent program with Helmut Spieser, OMAFRA on sprayer nozzles and calibration. Local Dealers on sprayers and supplies.
